![]() The first two years were filled with lots of practice on my adorable model and many friends, working to find my niche and style, then after I had my daughter, I decided to take the leap and launched my business – Londyn Layne Photography – at the beginning of 2014. I connected with a mentor who helped me pick out my first DSLR camera, signed up for classes, read books, watched tutorials, and tried to immerse myself in the world of photography. And I wanted to be able to share that with him and someday his children. Then, in 2011 my son was born and I felt compelled to document every little moment of him – the sweet little details as his face constantly grew and changed the big milestones and everything in between. In 2009, after a year of tragedy and major life changes, I picked up photography as a hobby to reclaim some of that childhood nostalgia. I honestly enjoyed the job and while there is some inherent creativity in finding strategic solutions, it wasn’t satisfying my whole being. However, I pursued a more traditional route initially, going to college and subsequently a career in IT Audit and Enterprise Risk Management. I’m nostalgic as a person, so being able to capture a moment or a feeling forever in a photograph brings me comfort. Even though I work in mostly digital format now, I still get that same feeling of excited anticipation when I open a new gallery to edit as I did when I’d pick up a thick envelope of freshly developed film. When I was little, I’d dress up my two little sisters for impromptu photoshoots and in high school, I dropped off multiple rolls of film a week to get developed. I have loved taking photos for as long as I can remember. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there. Thanks for sharing your story with us Lindsey. Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Cooper.
